FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH YOUR TOWN PROGRAM WITH WENDY BRICKMAN
Beginning on February 7th, Wendy Brickman of Brickman Marketing will now host the “Your Town” program that airs on AMP Channel 24 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on the Internet at www.ampmedia.org on the first Tuesday of the month. The program is also rebroadcast at midnight. Each hour-long program will feature Wendy conducting half hour interviews with two guests – one guest from the non-profit sector and one from a local business or organization. The program has been produced by Jim and Mary Lou Vossen for several years.
On Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wendy will interview Lauren Cohen, Executive Director of MY Museum, and Nader Agha, Managing Partner of The People’s Moss Landing Water Desal Project.
Lauren Cohen has been Executive Director of MY Museum for the past 14 years. She is certified in non-profit management, and holds a California Teaching Credential in Elementary Education. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband Craig, and spending time with her two young children.
Nader Agha, Managing Partner and the founder and developer of the 200 acre Moss Landing Green Business Park, leads THE PEOPLE’S MOSS LANDING WATER DESAL PROJECT’S highly experienced management and engineering team. Mr. Agha is a general contractor who has worked on over 90 projects and has been described as one of the best planners and estimators in Monterey County.
Wendy Brickman, President of Brickman Marketing, (www.brickmanmarketing.com) moved from Los Angeles to Monterey and established Brickman Marketing in October, 1990. Wendy has an extensive background in the areas of marketing, publicity, advertising and market research. She worked in the management training film area for over seven years, and held management positions in the home video industry for many years at Paramount Home Video, Media Home Entertainment and Pacific Arts Video. She also held marketing management positions for Salenger Films.
Wendy holds an M.B.A. in Marketing/Management from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, an M.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California, also in Los Angeles, and a B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley.
Wendy is a graduate of Leadership Monterey Peninsula and the Leadership Santa Cruz County. She is the is the winner of four Business Excellence Awards (2010, 2007, 2003, 1998) from the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, is a 1999 Small Business Advocate of the Year Award from the California Chamber of Commerce and a 1999 Robert C. Littlefield Award from the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. She was selected as the Woman of the Year in 2008 by the Professional Women’s Network and One of the 8 Top Women in Monterey by the Monterey Commission on the Status of Women in 2009.
Wendy has served on numerous Boards of Directors, including the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board, Professional Women’s Network, Monterey County Fair Heritage Board, Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Development Executives Network, Shelter Outreach Plus, Monterey History and Art Association, National Football Foundation, Monterey Celtic Arts Academy, and USC Alumni Association of the Monterey Peninsula. Wendy has taught Business Reading, Writing and Critical Thinking at California State University Monterey Bay and Business Communication at Golden Gate University.
She has also made numerous presentations on marketing and public relations for a variety of non-profit organizations. Wendy has worked with hundreds of organizations locally and nationally, large and small, from authors and video producers, to lawyers and doctors. Recent clients include Del Monte Shopping Center, Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival, Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival, Monterey County Fair, Choice Home Health Care, and many others.
